My Journey into Bird Photography and Conservation
During COVID, with nowhere to go and nothing but time, I found myself sitting in the backyard, camera in hand, just looking for something to capture. That’s when I truly noticed the birds. What started as a way to pass the time quickly became a hobby. As the number of birds I photographed grew, so did the excitement and challenge of finding that next "lifer."
Along the way, I found more than just birds—I found a community. Bird photographers are an extraordinary group of people, always willing to share their knowledge, their spots, and their passion. Through them, I’ve not only expanded my life list but also deepened my appreciation for these incredible creatures and the delicate ecosystems they rely on.
Over the years, this passion has turned into a purpose. The more I’ve learned about migration and habitat loss, the stronger my desire has become to use my photography to preserve, protect, and inspire. I want to share the beauty of birds with others, to spark appreciation, and to help raise awareness about conservation. Because once you truly see them—their colors, their grace, their journeys—you can’t help but want to protect them.
